Develop a broad set of digital skills and technological competencies
The Digital Decade Country Report for 2023, which outlines how each Member State is doing regarding the Digital Decade cardinal points (Digital Skills, Digital Infrastructures, Digitalisation of Businesses and Digitalisation of Public Services), highlights that over one-third of Malta’s population must gain basic digital skills. Hence, for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to be able to remain competitive, they need to invest more in digitisation.
This report flags out that “Maltese enterprises identify skills shortages as one of the main barriers to investing more in digitalisation”. Source: Country reports – Digital Decade report 2023 MT. Considering that, Malta has established a framework for coordinating and expanding digital skills initiatives to address persistent skills gaps and shortages. For this reason, both eSkills Malta Foundation and PwC’s Academy recognise that there is a need to upskill the local business community through a broad range of courses to upskill or reskill.
PwC’s Academy has developed the below courses, to help the local businesses to upskill their workforce.
These three (3) Training Programmes are fully funded by the eSkills Malta Foundation. The Foundation is a National Coalition made up of various representatives from Government, industry, and education, who can contribute to the increase in digital skills and the development of the IT profession in the Maltese Society.
Cybersecurity to the Next Level – A training course for IT professionals working in SMEs
This course aims at upskilling ICT Professionals and Practitioners into applying cybersecurity methods and tools within their business, and help secure their IT environment, with a special focus on the latest cybersecurity threats, as well emerging threats from the misuse of artificial intelligence.
