This course is aimed at anyone interested in data-driven technology and data analysis tools.

NOTE: A €10 registration fee is applied when enrolling; the registration fee will be refunded at the end of the course, if one has attended all the 3 sessions.

Terms and Conditions
By applying to the ‘The Future of Data-Driven Automation – Alteryx’ training programme, you confirm to have read, understand and agree to be bound by the relevant Terms and Conditions.

This session is going to cover the basics as well as the more advanced functions of Alteryx. The session will be recorded for those participants who wish to look back and review examples which were discussed during the sessions.

Session 1: What is Data and how is it used through Alteryx?
This session will focus on introducing the concept of data and the tool, Alteryx. The session is going to cover the main functions of Alteryx as well as some situations in which Alteryx is used as a powerhouse of solutions.

Key Benefits for Participants:

  • Participants will gain an understanding of the basic functions of Alteryx
  • The relationship between data and Alteryx will be explained
  • A description of how Alteryx can be used on a day-to-day basis by a user

Session 2: Run-through of categories and essential tools

Alteryx provides multiple tools to transform the data and perform required operations. This session is going to cover data about the categories that are often used in Alteryx.

The In/Out category includes tools that enable input and output of data to and from Alteryx. Input Data, Text Input, Directory, and Output Data are essential tools to start working with data.
The preparation category includes tools such as data cleansing, which demonstrates how easy it is to clean data, select tool, showing how data types can be changed, formula tool, with which many calculations can be performed and more.
The Join category focuses on combining datasets and includes tools such as Find Replace, Join, and Union.
The Transform category, as the name suggests, transforms the data using the Summarize, Transpose, and Cross Tab tools.

Key Benefits for Participants:

  • Participants will gain practical knowledge in using Alteryx and will be able to start building basic workflows themselves.
  • Participants will gain a better understanding of data transformation tools, allowing them to also utilise this knowledge in other popular platforms.

Session 3: Macros, Analytic Apps and AI Introduction

Macros in Alteryx allow users to encapsulate and reuse workflows as customizable tools. They simplify complex processes into single components, enhancing workflow efficiency and promoting reusability.
Analytic Apps are interactive applications created in Alteryx, providing users with customised interfaces to execute workflows and analyse data. They organise data analysis tasks by offering a user-friendly interface without requiring extensive technical skills.
AI Introduction: Basic concepts about AI and their applications inside Alteryx like: Workflow Summary Tool, Alteryx Auto Insights Magic Documents and OpenAI Connector.

Key Benefits for Participants:

  • Participants will learn the benefits of using macros in a way of making a workflow look much cleaner. This is due to many workflows being placed into a single tool, making it easier to understand the processes.
  • Analytic Apps will make it easier for individuals and organisations to harness the power of data for better decision-making and business outcomes.
  • Basic knowledge of AI will help participants understand some of the newer technologies and trends, getting a glimpse of the bright future ahead.
