Course Description

This course is designed to prepare you for Scrum.org’s Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification exam. By attaining the Professional Scrum Master certification, you’ll demonstrate your ability to lead or support the software development process in your organisation. You’ll learn the Scrum basics, and how to use Scrum to optimise productivity and efficiency. This course is very hands-on and you’ll experience all the aspects of the Scrum framework. The Professional Scrum Master certification is the first major update to the programme since it was first created in 2002.

Introduction to Agile/Scrum

  • The Scrum Framework
  • Requirements in Scrum
  • Planning and estimation with Scrum
  • Working as a Scrum team
  • Agile Testing
  • Keeping Scrum healthy – Pitfalls and Lessons Learnt
  • Getting Started
  • Sample Exam

Should Attend

This course is appropriate for anyone working on or with a Scrum team. Whether you or your organisation is investigating Scrum, beginning to utilise Scrum or struggling to implement Scrum effectively. Typical attendees include Project Managers, Team Leaders as well as cross-functional team members such as Developers, Testers, DBAs, Business Analysts, etc. and project support personnel who will benefit from an understanding of Agile/Scrum.

Prerequisites

We would recommend the following:

  • Are familiar with the basics of project management
  • Understand ‘requirements’ and ‘requirements decomposition’
  • Have been involved with a project that creates or improves a product
  • Understand the basics of Scrum and have read the Scrum Guide

Assessment

At the end of this course you will sit for the exam. The exam is not included in the price. Delegates will have to book their PSM Level I exam through scrum.org.

Time limit: 60 minutes
