PwC’s ESG Reporting In Action (ESG RepiA) constitutes a series of 5 online sessions focusing on 4 important topics revolving around the reporting aspect of ESG.

Session 1: Core components of environmental reporting. This session focuses on reporting GHG emissions, achieving net zero, and mitigating climate change impacts. Participants will learn about environmental sustainability reporting and the metrics required under CSRD, specifically ESRS E1 ‘Climate Change’ and ESRS E2 ‘Pollution’.

Sessions 2 & 3: Unpacking CSRD. These two sessions cover the main components of CSRD, including the expanded scope of reporting requirements and the double materiality assessment. Participants will gain insights into effective sustainability reporting practices and emerging trends.

Session 4: Technology for ESG Integration. This session emphasises the role of technology in ESG compliance, focusing on data collection and processing. Participants will learn a flexible and scalable ESG reporting approach.

Session 5: Business Transformation for Successful ESG Implementation. This session provides insights into integrating ESG factors into business strategies. Participants will learn how to develop an ESG framework and drive meaningful business transformation.

Course Structure

S1: Core components of environmental reporting

This session will delve into the environmental aspects of ESG, with a particular emphasis on reporting GHG emissions, achieving net zero, and mitigating the impacts of climate change.
Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of environmental sustainability reporting, including the risks and opportunities it presents for businesses. They will also develop a strong foundation in how to incorporate sustainable practices within their organisation and effectively report on these initiatives. Emphasis will be placed on the related environmental metrics required to be reported under CSRD, particularly in terms of ESRS E1 ‘Climate Change’ and ESRS E2 ‘Pollution’.
By the end of this session, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and tools necessary to drive meaningful environmental change in their business and daily life, and to report on these efforts accurately and effectively.

These two session will provide participants with a clear outline of the main components behind CSRD and how best to prepare for external reporting, including its key features such as the expanded scope of reporting requirements and an introduction to the ESRSs. It will offer a detailed overview of the double materiality assessment, including common pitfalls and best practice in carrying out this foundational exercise.
Participants will gain insights into effective sustainability reporting practices, including identifying key stakeholders, value chain mapping, data collection, and reporting. The session will also cover emerging sustainability trends, emphasising the importance of integrating sustainability concerns into strategy development and risk mitigation.
By the end of this course, participants will have the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate the complex landscape of sustainability reporting and better support their organisation in driving the necessary change.

  • Gain a clear understanding of the main components behind CSRD, including the expanded scope of reporting requirements and an introduction to the ESRSs, enabling them to effectively prepare for external reporting.

This process ensures that participants’ ESG reporting approach remains flexible, scalable, accurate, meaningful, and easy to track, with the support of technology. Participants will learn how to prioritise ESG topics and establish workflows essential to an effective reporting programme. These skills can be applied to different business contexts, thereby establishing a sustainable and effective approach to ESG reporting.
