Learn the underlying principles and concepts of financial accounting, accounting techniques and the preparation of basic financial statements. You’ll demonstrate technical proficiency in the use of double-entry techniques, including the preparation
and interpretation of basic financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, companies and simple groups of companies.

Course Structure

The below syllabus is covered during this course:

  1. The nature, source and purpose of management information
  2. The qualitative characteristics of financial information
  3. The use of double-entry and accounting systems
  4. Recording transactions and events
  5. Preparing a trial balance
  6. Preparing basic financial statements
  7. Preparing simple consolidated financial statements
  8. Interpretation of financial statements

Should Attend

Individuals who would like to start the ACCA qualification or those who are doing their ACCA Applied Knowledge exams

Prerequisites

The minimum entry requirements to start ACCA are a complete matriculation certificate or an equivalent MQF Level 4 Diploma related to accounting and finance. However, if you do not meet this criteria, you can still start ACCA under the Foundations In Accountancy (FIA) program. You can start from any of the following papers: FBT, FMA and FFA. These are the same as the first three modules of ACCA (BT, MA and FA) indicated further down in this email.
